McNeill wood chip is sourced from Niagara Sawmill, where quality radiata pine is chipped for both export and local manufacture and distribution. The wood chip produced is clean and quick drying, making it ideal for use in the rural sector.

Unlike logs chipped on-farm, our woodchip is stored in a concrete bunker, making it contamination-free. The concrete base prevents dirt, stones, and other foreign materials from entering the product, ensuring a cleaner and more consistent chip quality.

• Radiata pine smells fresh and is naturally hygienic, much like a wooden chopping board that contains natural tannins which act as an antibacterial agent.

• Counts of coliforms and environmental Streptococci in bulk tank milk are indicators of milking practice quality and equipment sanitation. Coliform counts, in particular, are often used to assess the effectiveness of cow preparation at milking time, as the primary source of coliform bacteria is dirty teats.

• Cleaner cows are easier to prepare for milking and are less susceptible to mastitis.
